It was easier when I was angry.

It was so much easier when I looked at my wife and saw Amaunet, the demon. I knew I was looking into the eyes of my enemey.

I should have more hope than ever now that I've seen Sha're. Something of the host survives. Maybe it was even Sha're who looked right at us in our hiding place; more likely this was some scheme of Amaunet's to conceal the child from Apophis.

I'm afraid I'll never know again which one of them I'm looking at - or worse, I'll know and be wrong.
